Are there opportunities for financial support?

  1. The Shannon Michael Cane Award is granted to first-time exhibitors at Printed Matter’s Art Book Fairs. If you are an emerging publisher and this is your first time applying to the NY Art Book Fair, we encourage you to apply. Four recipients will each be granted a table and an unrestricted $1000 USD stipend.

  2. The Volume Grant is an opportunity dedicated to BIPOC artists and publishers. It is open to first-time AND returning exhibitors. Four recipients will each be granted a table and an unrestricted $1000 USD stipend.

  3. The 2026 Jason Polan Award recognizes two NYABF exhibitors who work with illustration and embody the spirit of Polan’s practice. A jury will select a shortlist of six exhibitors and announce the two awardees on Sunday during the Fair. They will each receive an unrestricted grant of $2500 USD.  More information can be found in the application.

  4. If accepted and if there are funding resources available through your government, universities, or other channels, we are happy to provide an official invitation letter from Printed Matter as well as discuss helping with other related paperwork. These processes can take time, so please compile information as soon as possible.
